What are Spaces?
Spaces are small, welcoming gatherings where people come together to share experiences, support one another, and build meaningful connections. Each Space is centered around a specific topic, with guided questions designed to spark reflection, conversation, and deeper understanding.
These structured online groups provide a safe, confidential space for open conversations, where participants can share their perspectives, listen with empathy, and form real relationships.
Each Space has up to 8 participants and lasts about an hour via video call.

What is a Keeper?
Keepers serve as moderators in Spaces, facilitating discussions and ensuring a safe environment. They also participate by sharing their stories and experiences with you.
While not therapists, Keepers undergo intensive training designed by therapists. They provide leadership by asking prompts and encouraging participation, but they do not diagnose or give advice.

How it starts
The Keeper starts with an opening ceremony to bring everybody's attention into the present moment. The opening ceremony can be something like a stretch, breathing exercise, or guided meditation.
Your turn
The Keeper, holding the Totem, initiates by asking the first prompt. After sharing their own experience, they pass the Totem to the next person.
When holding the Totem, it's your turn to share; there's no interruption from others. When you're finished or choose not to share, you pass the Totem onto the next person.

Pricing
Totem offers our Spaces to you free of charge.
We are committed to promoting community welfare regardless of financial constraints.
In the future, we will introduce more comprehensive Spaces tailored to specific needs. While these Spaces will have a nominal fee attached, Totem will continue to offer the majority Spaces for free as part of our commitment to mental wellness and inclusivity.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I be anonymous?

Yes! We don't mind if you don't use your real name. We will require enough information for moderation, like your email, but to other people (including Keepers) you can be whoever you want to be. However, we do require you share authentic stories.
What about privacy?

We have zero tolerance about discussing what happens in Totem to the outside. Anyone doing this will be permanently removed. Additionally, our communications during video calls are encrypted. The only people who can hear your shares are the people in your Space.
Is this a replacement for therapy?

No. While many people prefer Totem to therapy, it is not a replacement for traditional one-on-one therapy. However, Totem can be a great supplement if you already have ongoing therapy sessions and can help deepen your understanding of your work there
Are Keepers therapists?

Generally, no. Keepers differ from therapists in that their role is to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely for everyone. Otherwise, Keepers participate in discussions just like everyone else and do not offer advice or guidance.
